The rupee recovered by four paise to 67.25 versus the US dollar on Friday on fresh selling of the American currency by exporters and banks.
Forex dealers said a higher opening in the domestic probity markets too supported the domestic unit and dollar's weakness versus other currencies overseas supported rupee.
On Thursday, the rupee had tumbled by 44 paise to tropical at increasingly than two-year lows of 67.29 versus the US dollar.
Meanwhile, the benchmark BSE Sensex recovered by 139.67 points, or 0.56 per cent, to quote at 24,912.64.
